#GAMEPLAY

This game features a throwback to "Double Dragon", "Street Fighter", and "Streets of Rage". You basically enter a level and "Beat 'em All" in order to progress the story.  Break some barrels to get 'Food' or 'Red Potion' to help Karrin in battle. A list of abilities are available to help Karrin get a upper hand in the fight.

#ENEMIES

Some enemies are tough and require persistence to beat them (specifically "Brute') focus on giving light taps (or crit) on them in order to break their armor. This makes it easier to beat them since all the enemies have low attack speed.

Brute

Notable for their limited mobility, brutes lack agility compared to other enemies, rather they prefer to stand their ground rather than navigate swiftly through the battlefield. Their abilities tend to be straightforward, focused on taking damage or acting as a meat shield for other enemies.

Punks

"Punks" are notable for their damage and movement, they lack armor and health compared to other enemies, but attack more swiftly than others. Their abilities tend to be straightforward, focused on dealing damage and eschewing intricate tactics for a more direct approach.

PonyTail

PonyTail's combat style is relentless, combining the calculated aggression of a boxer with the unexpected grace of her dynamic motion. Her lightning-quick punches create a formidable offensive onslaught, while her nimble footwork allows her to close in swiftly, making her a formidable adversary in close-quarters combat.

I really like the game graphics and the sfx, nice color pallet you used in the game they tend to blend well together and am looking forward to the updated one

solid combat mechanics and sound effects, but I didn't feel Engadget to the game, maybe the health of opponents where too high, and  the repetitiveness of the game

Im sorry to hear that and I want you to know that I've made updates based on the feedback I've gotten from people and the game is much more fun. I also plan to make Modern Fighters 2 after the game jam ends so stay tuened.

Solid graphics, love the lighting effects, great choice of color palette, loved the barrel physics too. Music fits in super well and the sfx are super satisfying with the movement and animations. 21:9 aspect ratio has UI pieces off screen but that can be fixed easily I'm sure and I was still able to enjoy the game. Would love to this more fleshed out, with some more VFX for the hits, possibly some SFX variations, and probably more levels although I didn't really get to the end. Also maybe replace the underscore with spaces in NPC names, unless there's a narrative reason for that. Overall it's a great gem of a game you've built here. Well done! Thanks for participating!

There are vfx for the hits but idk why it doesn't show on Web GL. Initially I thought it was just a layering error (where it would be rendered first so everything else on top of it) so I put it to be rendered last but then realized it was just faint. It has to be a webgl error.

As for the SFX variation (you read me like a book), I also thought of having different sound effects in certain cases i.e. Crit SFX would be a harder "Hit.wav" sound and blood Sfx... e.t.c. Unfortunately I wasn't able to implement them all.

The Enemies having underscore(_) in their name is based on the story that "Karrin" the main character is simply in a simulation and most of everything (besides the bosses you fight) are not real. So you might see names like "Punk_Dude" or "Punk_Man", or "Knife_Punk".

Thanks for the feedback and I plan to do some polishing after the game jam ends so stay tuned.

nice graphics

Thanks.
